Why can't I find channels on Twitch?

You can still call up the channel if you know the username. For example, by simply writing the username behind https://www.twitch.tv/...twitch.tv/, in this specific case…
And when looking for friends, you should also find the user easily. See:

But it would be even easier than searching for the user simply by clicking on the name in the chat.
