I wanted to watch a film today with Facecam to stream it on twitch, is that legal? Or are there any legal consequences?

I did that 2 years ago nothing happened, the question is whether it is legal…

Ut

If you made the movie you want to stream yourself, that's ok

if not, then not

ra

No, it is definitely illegal. Also note that every single viewer counts as illegal distribution. If that should be noticed, there might be real trouble, especially if you were to advertise.

Gu

Thank you very much, I will take the answer from you to heart and not stream a film, I will probably play something after all.

Gu

Is a clear violation of copyright, as you are sending third-party property without authorization. Goes well until someone notices it and reports you. Then the channel is usually blocked and you can pay to the owner of the rights.

Gu

Do you also know how it behaves when you let music play on the youtube background while playing? So normal songs that are also copyright?

ra

Until recently that was not a problem, but in principle it is the same. I would therefore rather recommend free music.

Gu

No copyright music yes… You're right I just saw a video from Christian Solmecke (lawyer) on youtube, copyright music is illegal, you are blocked and you can even get mail… Uncomfortable post. Good that I know that now

Generally it is illegal and against the TOS of Twitch, but it is possible to hold "watch parties". The streamer and the viewer need an Amazon Prime subscription and Prime Gaming.

Va

Spreading a film on Twitch (whether as a reaction or full screen) is against the platform's TOS. The fact that it was not noticed at the time may be due to the fact that you may not have a huge audience and thus stayed under the radar. But this is not the norm and it can get really expensive in the event of a copyright infringement.

If you're looking for a legal way, there's a watch party. More information is available on the official Twitch website.

I recommend you don't take the risk and stream it legally.
