When should you get the xbox series x?

I have been discussing with a friend for a long time. He said you should wait at least 1.5-2 months after the console was released. Reason due to multiple production batches would be fixed in later productions of the console software as well as hardware errors. However, I think it is relative could run smoothly (only minor errors) but I don't want to rule out the risk of a red ring of death like with the 360 back then. What do you think?
