Moin everyone
my Wi-Fi card (ASUS PCE-AC51) constantly causes problems that make working and gaming on the PC unbearable
• Every time I start an online game, the connection is disconnected within 5 minutes, because there's either "no internet connection" (although everything works fine on the mac and smartphone) or a restart is often necessary
• Apparently the DNS server is not responding, which is actually not the case with all other devices (I tried over 6 combinations for ipv4)
• the download speed rarely reaches a weak maximum of 3 Mb / s (not Mbit)
• Sure, the pc is 7 meters above the router, which is no excuse for mac, Xbox 360, etc. (mac usually has an 8 Mb download speed at the top)
The drivers are all installed… What could be the problem? Is the WLAN card for the… Or what?
Since WLAN is implemented via a radio link, the radio link is the most important factor. Every smallest disturbance requires e.g. Repetitions of the data sent. Therefore, the speed drops immediately even with weak connections.
So try using a mobile phone and a test app (I use the Fritz WLAN app) to find the place where the antennas of the network card have a better wireless connection. The antennas can be connected using a coax cable.
If necessary with a repeater (bad PING) or best of all with a LAN cable.
Thank you so much!
Which of the tips worked?
I read that the WLAN card is supposed to be the biggest garbage, that's why it will be gone soon (FRITZ! Said I had an amazing 14 Mb / s [120 Mbit / s] up here)
So I would really first set off the antennas via a coaxial cable or did you measure where the antennas are now?
If necessary, you can also move the PC to a different location for the test (if there's no antenna cable at hand) where you have measured the good reception.
Well, good luck anyway!
