Convert a DVD to ONE file?

Since everything today is more in the direction of "on-demand" and digitization, it was mine

Idea to "digitize" my DVD and Blu-Ray collection and only for the

To put private use (!) On a NAS.

My expectation:

- One DVD in ONE file

-Incl. Menu and ALL audio tracks

As if I were inserting a DVD into a player… Only that I have to call up the file via my device (Android TV, PS, Xbox, etc.)

Also with copy protection or additional equipment, if you like.

Do you have an idea how to do that?

I think that fails because the devices do not support the formats. The simplest would be an ISO image, but I don't think everyone supports it. Apart from that, because of copy protection, digitizing DVDs is not that banal

I don't know how it works with the menu, but dvDFab could do something like that.

I only use MakeMKV. This tool converts all film discs into an MKV file, with all audio tracks, with all subtitles, etc.

Problem after MakeMKV.ein film has about 20GB as a file.

So: There's a coder, namely HandBrake, I always use the x265 codec, but keep the original audio tracks. After coding, the film would only have about 6GB (2h running time FullHD). The more bonus material is added, the bigger, of course then the end file.

You have to try out the COdec on your end devices beforehand, not all e.g. The x265, but x264, would work, but it will take up more storage space.

Thanks first of all,

I've already thought of an ISO image. Unfortunately I agree with you. Very few devices can reproduce this.

Apart from that, I think you can "bypass" the copy protection if it is only used for private purposes, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Jo

No, you can make copies for private use, but as far as I know you are not allowed to bypass any protective measures
