Weak Internet on the PC?

The following problem: I usually have a 120MB / s line (I don't know if it's written correctly), but on the PC I can only manage 12MB / s at most. I can easily manage 90 to 100 on my Xbox One. So can I do anything? Or is that normal?

no

It sounds like you're swapping Mbit and Mbit, because 12 Mbit / s is pretty much 96 Mbit / s. How do you measure the connection on the PC?

br

You don't have a weak internet on your PC, because your PC is not connected to the internet. It hangs in your LAN.

Furthermore, you should better use the correct units of measurement otherwise you will hardly get a correct answer.

If you want to solve network problems independently, you first have to take some tutoring in network technology. Let me know when you should be ready.

Gu

Or the PC is connected via WLAN and has poor reception…

ro

Ne is with Lan

Gu

How do you go on the Internet do you go over a LAN cable or over WLAN?

With WLAN, the data rate can be halved if there are obstacles between the PC and router.

Sc

Confused byte and bit?

You have a 100Megabit () line but your PC shows you the download rate in bytes. Furthermore, your provider calculates decimal (1000bit = 1Kb) your PC but binary (1024bit = 1Kb)

ro

Maybe I don't really know. I mean the speed that is displayed during the download.

ro

Ne is over Lan

ro

I mean the speed that is displayed during the download, if you know what I mean.

ro

And how can it be that my Xbox hits 100? And I mean the speed that is displayed during the download.

Sc

These are usually bytes.

"I usually have a 120MB / s line (I don't know if it's spelled correctly), but on the PC I can only manage 12MB / s at most"

The 120 what kind of unit is that? 120 MB / s (megabytes) corresponds to a gigabit line. Do you have a gigabit line? What kind of internet contract do you have?

no

As I said, with 12 MB / s you would have almost exactly what you are paying for. How do you measure the speed on the PC? Does it say MB / s or MBit / s?

br

Do you look at paragraph 3 of my answer.
If you - like many here - don't feel like acquiring know-how, then you just have to pay a professional.
Network problems can't be explained here in 2-3 sentences for laypeople.

Gu

How old is your LAN cable? Or. What kind of guy? And what about when you use a new LAN cable?

Gu

Do the same speed test on both devices one after the other: https://www.speedtest.net/...edtest.net

tr

Sounds like a configuration problem. Remote diagnosis is difficult.

ro

If I swap the two cables it doesn't really change.

ro

On the Xbox and on the PC it says MB / s

ro

I made the download speed for both at an average of 105MB / s

ro

Who can I contact?

no

That can't be. 100 MB / s would be an 8 GBit line. Mbit / s is definitely indicated on your Xbox.

tr

Someone who is very knowledgeable about Windows. But you have to see that on site.

ro

I think by now it is a misunderstanding if you read the other comments.

no

800 Mbit / s * line

tr

My PC used to work fine with a Fritzbox 7490. Now I have a 7530 and Ka.e! I had to do a lot of reconfiguring. Now it is running perfectly again. These are just attitudes.

Gu

If you have 105 at speedtest.net, then it says specifically "Mbps" - that stands for "Megabit per second" - or also known as MBit / s

So Knomle was apparently right with your first score.

Would say that 105 Mbit / s is a very reasonable rate.

ro

Well then, thank you.
