What is actually the difference between the xbox One x and the series x is you only have an ssd in it and can do 8k but if you only have a 4k tv the above x or is enough.

Does it help if I install an ssd

There's a lot more to it than just an SSD. A completely new and more up-to-date generation of hardware is included (AMD's Zen 2 Custom with RDNA2 Custom).

Accordingly, there's a CPU with 8 cores, 16 threads and a clock rate of 3.8 GHz. You have 16 GB of GDDR6 memory shared between the CPU and GPU. The RDNA2 graphics unit delivers a whopping 12K of teraflops with 52 compute units with 1.825 GHz GPU clock. And the entire platform is based on new standards such as PCIe 4.0.

SSD topic: And here is the next huge difference to the Series X. The Series X works with PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSDs, which with the data throughput of PCIe 4.0 x4 (just under 8 GByte / s) with read and write speeds beyond over 3000 MB / s (read) and 2000 MB / s (write) work.

That means, as far as the start and loading times of the Series X are concerned, you will never achieve this with a simple SATA SSD in a One X, as the current SATA 6 controller of the One X does not exceed 600 MB / s read / write. Especially since you can't use M.2 SSDs in the One X.

Although you can install a SATA SSD in the One X, you may be. A few noticeable seconds faster when starting the console, as well as loading times in games. There are plenty of tutorials for this on the Internet. Faster because of "an SSD" I have more FPS / no frame locks / am just as fast as a Series X "but you are by no means with a SATA SSD in the One X. Quite the contrary. The Series X is through the rest of the hardware and not only because of the SSD alone, it is 2x faster than the One X.

Installing an SSD in an Xbox One X does help. All games will most likely load faster, with little FPS advantage.

Nevertheless, an SSD in an Xbox One X can't be compared to a Series X with an SSD.

The Series X not only has an SSD that is significantly faster than anything that can be built into a One X, but also significantly better processor performance.
