Format hard drive for Xbox?

I got a 4TB hard drive for Christmas that was apparently formatted directly for the LC (so I could use it normally on the PC) but I want to use it for my xbox one. Do I have to format them first or something and if so how? And can I then simply format it again for the PC if I want to use it again for the PC?
