It is not always possible to purchase on account. If you are newly registered anyway, not. Entering the bank details is indeed for direct debit, which I have been using there for many years. It's very convenient.

In your case, Amazon does not allow this for any reason. They only accept the order with direct debit - not by bank transfer
Another question that just arises to me: Why do you buy such a dummy stuff that is not vital if you have no coal * head scratch *
Then you can probably still pay expenses if they can't debit. I don't know the bank charges in Germany, here in Austria it costs around 20 euro. It is best to buy when you have money for it, not before.
