It's hard to imagine. The specialist journals also predicted the end of the PC and it is still there.
Well, there could be new technologies. Furthermore, the manufacturers of the new generation have aligned the devices in such a way that they last longer due to the advanced technology. I suspect that it will continue for 10 years with the consoles
But the pc is also of general use and will hardly die. The consoles are stored differently and there are only 2 manufacturers. There are countless pc manufacturers
If the theory boils down to pure streaming services, you still need hardware including the appropriate peripherals. (Affordable) televisions alone are still far from being able to do this and not everyone wants to move it to a PC.
So I can't imagine that consoles in form basically die out. But that the next generation will rely more on streaming technology and thus on less potent and at the same time cheaper hardware, is quite conceivable. Appropriate considerations have already been made and it is still a long way off.
But last generation of consoles? Very unlikely for me.
I don't think it's the last one that a lot of people are still playing on consoles and if it happens in the future it might be something else but the game industry won't go bankrupt no matter what
