Connect Xbox one controller to headset on PC?

About 2 weeks ago I bought an Xbox one wireless controller that I was able to connect to the PC without any problems. Now I've seen that the headphones can also be used at the bottom of the controller audio input, but I can't hear any sound. If I connect a mini-USB cable to the PC, you can hear something. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong or is it not possible?

How do you connect it wirelessly to the PC?

PS: I just bought a Bluetooth adapter from the Internet. Not a specific adapter from Microsoft.

I think that's it. With the Microsoft (I mean WLAN) adapter it should work.
