Why can't I connect my controller (PC)?

Somehow I can't really wirelessly connect a controller with the PS4 controller, everything is messing around when you connect it via Bluetooth, and the Xbox One controller was constantly disconecting. I've had the Series X controller for a few weeks now (my Xbox One controller broke and I exchanged it, and it doesn't connect via Bluetooth or the Xbox wireless adapter at all
