I want to get some games on the PC and there I saw Assassin's creed odyssey, then I wondered if it's worth it, I already had other Assassin's creed parts on the Xbox and they did not appeal to me as I sometimes get out of the level I ran and restarted it immediately, the opponents were too strong, the story was a bit boring and sometimes I did not know where to go now, I like to play Open World anyway I want to know where I have to go to make sure the story goes on (eg that it is marked on the map) and I do not have to google directly
So: The Story of the new parts (Origins + Odyssey) is ever harder to track. In the old games (AC 1, 2, Brotherhood, …) you could follow the main story well, because the storyline was direct. For the new parts, you MUST make side missions to level up or get new gear. Why up-level? Because the areas are divided by difficulty (starting area level 1, next area level 5, then level 10, …). The open world is gigantic and for my terms even a bit too huge, so you should use the fast travel function. You can't completely travel the map in real time, because it would be too extensive.
The story itself is okay, but that's because I'm a lover of the old parts. It has less to do with the original Assassins. You now have an independent character that makes the game just a role play. That's the essential: A role-playing game - embedded in an Assassin's background. I think that's not bad, but the implementation is easy… Well, Ubisoft has built a lot of missions, objects, places, etc. But more does not necessarily mean better.
If you have Steam, then just go there for the reviews and take another picture of the game:
