Does the new xbox controller (series x) have less input delay than the old (xbox one) (pc)?

Mo

I haven't seen any numbers on that yet. But I assume that the lag of input devices of all kinds is negligible anyway.

co

You can tell the difference between the ps4 and xbox one controller on the PC, for example.

Ma

If you consider that a disadvantage, use it with a cable.

Ke

What has the lower input lag?

Ke

As far as I know, yes.

The 2.4 Ghz bandwidth has been expanded on the one hand and the Bluetooth version has also been updated on the other.

What could also be a point would be the Auto Low Latency Mode of the Xbox controllers / consoles. This mode dramatically reduces latency and ensures an almost latency-free experience.

Is that also possible with windows 10?

Xbox controller

Mo

It shows once again that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. ALLM only affects the communication between console and screen, it is simply automatically switched to game mode (which everyone should already have on in 2020). 0.0 has to do with the controller.

Mo

I can't make a direct comparison myself. But just a difference that is in the realm of the tangible, i.e. Several milliseconds, would surprise me very much.

co

Well, you're surprised now, okay? Because I'm not lying around here. You can find an input lag table on google. It's blue. You can see it there. But it is still without the next gen controller

Mo

Have I ever accused you of lying? No. I looked at the said blue table. And when you read through the reactions, people are also surprised at the data given. I'm simply very surprised that an electrical component that does not require complex signal processing should have such great differences.

By the way: You claim that you notice the lower input lag of the XBox controller very much - according to the source you cite, the PS4 controller has the lower input lag…

I also very, very much doubt that differences in the range of 3-4ms (as stated by your source) are even noticeable in controllers. Especially since controllers are significantly more "unresponsive" than mice.

Ca

Clear. Either with a cable or the Official Wireless Stick from Microsoft: https://www.amazon.de/...074QMN4YW/ - the stick actually costs 22 euro, so you better stop by the electronics store or order it cheaper elsewhere. If you want to gamble with a cable then just forget about the stick, but the fact is that both are good.

Ke

😄Or you can use Bluetooth

Ca

Well, not every PC has a proper Bluetooth chip installed. I have a laptop and the chip that is built into it keeps losing connections. And if I want to play a game with a controller after a while, my laptop is seriously too stupid to find the controller. I've never had any problems with using the stick. Sorry pal but I only use the original. Only my smartphones get a proper connection with my controller 🤷🏻♂️

Ke

Okay, I totally agree with you.

co

First, the ps4 controller only has less when connected to bluetooth. But I'm talking about cables. I play a game competitively and therefore have to have as much fps and as little input delay as possible. This can be done by setting the quality settings to jealous. Then you really notice the difference between the two controllers. I've tried it so stop saying it's barely noticeable. When I say that it can be felt, then it is very easy to feel
