What are you getting PS5 / Digital edition or Xbox Series X / S and why?

I'll get the Ps5. Only a year after the release, because I very much hope that prices will go down.

I'll buy both consoles. Alone for the prestige. The only question is when, as you will probably not get any more for the release. ^^

At some point in the coming year the PS5 will certainly be available, but not the digital version, but with a drive. What else should I do with all my PS4 games?

XBox or Pc because Xbox Series X is better than PS5

Ok, I can tell you how I do it and why.

I currently have a powerful gaming PC, an XBox One and a PS4 Pro.

I will be landing several new generation consoles again, as always. Only the order is really important.

I'll get an Xbox Series X for the living room and a Series S for the office. Since I currently still have a Full HD TV in the living room and no 4K OLED and I won't replace it as long as it is still running so well, I may first buy the Series S and connect it in the living room first, then it moves first old XBox One in the office.

Maybe it will also be the Series X, but only because of the "want to have" feeling, so it can't be explained rationally.
One thing is certain, there will definitely be both!

Why even the XBox first and not the PS5? On the one hand, I'm already using the Gamepass Ultimate on the XBox One and the PC and will continue to use it. Now all the Zenimax / Bethesda and EA games are included, so that's an absolute must for me.

In addition, with the Gamepass I have cross-save, cross-play and cross-progression through the cloud technology from MS. So I can start a game on the PC and simply continue the progress and save status on one of my XBoxes and vice versa.

I also have a large XBox game library outside of the Game Pass, which I can play completely on the new consoles and which pretty much all run better / prettier / faster thanks to the HDR technology.

Then either the new Nintendo Switch Pro would come first (depending on when it appears) or the PS5 All Digital.

The Switch Pro, because I didn't own a Switch or a Wii you and want to catch up on some games.

The PS5 Digital later, because there's simply nothing in the launch titles that interests me. I wait until more interesting exclusive titles come out and / or until the console appears as Slim / Pro (preferably in black), in the best case a little cheaper or with a game in a bundle. The massive size scares me a bit.

Since Sony has already announced that the games will normally cost around 80 euro in future, it only has advantages if I only join a little later. A few games should have dropped in price by then.

Why the Digital PS5?
1. Because I don't buy discs or BluRays (simply no more space for all the plastic waste on the shelf).
2. A disc drive is also a source of heat in the housing. The less heat that needs to be dissipated, the better.
3. A disc drive also has many moving parts that can wear out and break. I already had that with the PS3. If the XSX existed without a drive, I would rather get this version than the one with a drive.
