My xbox no longer recognizes the external hard drive. Tonight everything didn't work because I played Fifa, for example, what is on it, then the xbox made an update this morning, so I assume that it is because the other USB slots have already been tried but still works not, and the hard drive lights up and flashes normally as before, but when I go to a game that is on the hard drive a message appears that I have to install.
Can someone help me, reluctant to buy a new one and reinstall everything.
Plug it into a computer and see if you can access the hard drive normally. If not, then it broke, and I once did.
But are they not formatted again?
Edit: When I just plugged it out of the xbox, it was suddenly displayed and then plugged in again, but there was nothing on it, and now it is not displayed again.
No, just plugging it into a USB port on the computer will not format it. Only if you can format them.
So the PC recognizes the hard drive normally.
Strange, but now you definitely know that the hard drive is not broken.
Unfortunately, I can't help you any more, sorry.
Format them on the console. Then you have to reinstall everything, but it should work again.
Somehow it has already deleted itself, no idea how and why, but nothing can be installed on it now, had already written to support before but their tip did not help. I have now ordered a new one.
Formatting via the console does not help either?
I would have to try it, I'm still at work, but the problem was that it was sometimes recognized and then after a few minutes it wasn't.
Then test it out.
I think that your problem will be fixed afterwards.
So now I've tried formatting, but first there's a gray field where nothing is displayed and after a while there's a message that starting StorageManagement took too long. It also indicated that the disk should be completely occupied, but when I display the content, there are no games on it.
OK, that sounds like it's really over.
Too bad, I would have thought that would bring something. So now a new one has to run.
Yes, luckily tomorrow, thank you anyway.
