As a PC player, I only get consoles for exclusive titles, so I find the PS4 better and have it with me.
So the PS4 has more players in Europe, the Xbox is more popular in the USA and Nitendo consoles have the most players in Asia!
I would simply follow my circle of friends, if everyone in your circle of friends has a PS4 and you are the only xbox player, then that is not an advantage and you can only play games on which you can play with all consoles!
