Computer doesn't show a picture / extremely strange?

Recently I wanted to wipe my table a bit, so I pulled out all the cables, including the HDMI cable, from my PC, except for the power cable, and turned off the power supply using the button on the back. I left the power cable on because it is a bit cumbersome to remove and the length did not prevent me from placing the PC on the floor. After wiping, I reconnected everything and… No more picture.

During the whole change, I treated the PC more carefully than you would treat a baby, so that something like this doesn't happen.

Immediately afterwards, out of doubt, I tried all the combinations that were possible for me (even if they didn't make sense.) The combinations are as follows:

The PC only has one HDMI connection, the television, which I have been using as a monitor for 2 years, has three connections. I have two HDMI cables myself, the second being from my Nintendo Switch. I connected both cables to the PC once and tried all of the TV sockets. No picture. I've reinstalled the television a dozen times and reconfigured the connections to rule out a configuration-led mapping problem to the best of my ability.

Then I connected both cables to my switch and the television recognizes the console immediately, no matter which mode the television is in. Then I gave up and took the PC to Conrad the next day (Saturday), where it was assembled two years ago. He stayed there until Tuesday, although I missed a call from you on Monday, where you wanted to tell me the same thing as on the day of collection, namely that "the PC is running without any problems. You connected it on both days and it is running flawless ".

They said that the PC sometimes has to rest for a whole day in order to discharge itself and that is probably why it did not display anything. And since he was in the camp with them for several days, it explains the reason why he is now walking again. Maybe it was because of the monitor, or because of the cable, the man said (but knew that it couldn't be because they both work perfectly in combination with the switch).

I put a little more RAM on it where I was already there and arrived at home. Plugged in the machine and… No picture. If I hadn't been shown my own desktop in the store, I would believe the man is lying, but no, the picture was still there in the store.

So I tried all the combinations listed above and another smart TV. I let it rest for several days and tried again.

In the end, I took my cable, PC and TV to a friend. We have my cable and PC with its monitor. My PC and its cable on my television. His cable and my PC on his television… Everything works when you plug it in. I'm coming home and… No picture.

So what's the problem?

Vi

I would turn off the PC at the back of the main switch and unplug all cables (including the power cable). Then let it rest for a night, reconnect all cables and switch the PC back on at the main switch.

Fr

I can do it again, but I've tried that too. I've run out of signs, so I've removed that and one more detail.

Ed

No picture… But fans, LEDs, etc. Act like it's starting up, right?

Wait until it should boot up and then press [Win] + [P] to toggle ("blindly") between the modes "Disconnect from projector", "Double", "Extended" and "Projector only". You always have to press [Win] + [P] twice to switch to the next mode, with [Enter] you can confirm.
I already had similar problems when switching between different monitors, maybe the predefined setting for your television got mixed up.

Vi

If your PC outputs a picture on your friend's TV, the error lies elsewhere. Probably on your TV, which is no longer communicating with your PC.

Vi

Your friend should connect his PC to your TV…

Fr

I already mentioned that in the last line. All devices ran on all screens. Immediately after plugging in. He also gave me his old cable that he used to test the TVs because my cable was too short to test for more than his PC monitor.

Basically, one question remains: Can my power connections on my wall have anything to do with the lack of the picture (as if by magic)? Although I also used the PC in the living room with a different TV and a different power connection…

Vi

Only you can know…

Fr

Yes, the PC will definitely start up. I have to google what you are describing because I don't know what the list looks like in order to be able to navigate.

Fr

Thank you. But I have one more question in this regard: Does the window with the options close after pressing the ENTER key, or can you switch between the modes by repeatedly entering WIN + P without having to reopen the window?

Ed

The window then closes under Win7, and presumably also under Win10.

Fr

I've only tried it now. Did nothing. If I really should have switched between modes, I might have made it even more difficult for myself. I think there's no solution to my problem. It's probably paranormal in nature.

Ed

OK, too bad; this has often helped me.
Do you have the option of starting up the PC with another monitor and then also connecting your television? Then you could see whether and as what the TV is recognized and then configure it again as the main screen; maybe it goes like this.

Fr

No. He also does not accept the television in the living room. I don't know if he would ever have accepted it because I never tried it. What is crazy is the fact that the PC recognized all 2 screens from the friend and the television I brought with me. It makes no sense.

Ed

Then unfortunately I don't really know what to do next, but good luck anyway; maybe you'll find a solution after all.
