I ordered Skyrim last night. Today I discovered the "free" game ElderScrolls Online on the PS5. I've already watched a few videos what the difference is but haven't gotten much smarter. Now I don't know… Should I send Skyrim back and play ESO, or just Skyrim, or both. I'm confused. Which is better or which one would you recommend to me. ESO is still being serviced and so on and Skyrim is not. But I don't know if that makes a difference. I really need help. Sure, both are not the same games, but they look very, very similar, and so on.
Skyrim is a pure single player game and plays in the same game world as ESO.
I've played both and what bothers me about ESO is that the things you do in the game actually have no consequences, because MMO-related quests are always reset. But that's a matter of taste.
ESO is an MMORPG, meaning online with other people.
These are completely different games.
ESO is still being serviced and so on and Skyrim is not.
It doesn't matter, as Skyrim runs offline in contrast to ESO - if they shut down the servers, everything is gone.
The games play in the same universe but are very different. It then depends more on what you prefer to play.
I played both intensely. Skyrim is a fantastic single player game with a great atmosphere. ESO is just an MMOPRG in the setting of the Elder Scrolls world. ESO aims at subscriptions, i.e. Extensions have to be bought, ESO Plus should be had, because without it, space in the inventory and the bank is really rare. Since there are constant changes in the game, you are forced to keep farming new sets, etc. It's fun, but it sucks when you want to play it right. Of course, you can only work on the story content as a single player, but there's no atmosphere if other players constantly get in your way.
In short, if you want MMOPRG, then Eso, if you want story and atmosphere, then Skyrim. You can't really compare it. I'm eagerly waiting for the next Elder Scrolls game. Personally, I've had enough of Eso by now.
Personally, I would say that the game doesn't feel particularly rewarding. When I see the equipment from high levels, I have the feeling that it is hardly getting any better.
Right. I played it really hard for 2 years. All trials except Wolkenruh in vet, which are not DLCs in hard mode. Dungeons also almost all including HMs. But I'm tired of constantly farming new sets that don't get better no matter how much CP you have, because the cap is still 160. Then you need infinite resources again to upgrade… No, at some point it's good. Apart from the fact that it is infinitely difficult to work on certain things with 11 other people. You then have to do additional training, etc.
I would recommend Archeage if it weren't for that P2W power by now…
Too bad. Yes, I miss a good online game at the moment. So just play the good old Witcher3 😅 again
