Help with CS: GO surfing?

I'm new to CS: Go because I only followed it on Twitch and never played it myself. Now I have tried surfing. It works to some extent I can drive or surf but as soon as a spot jumps I fall down like a wet sack or do not come anywhere near Ran. I do not press w or s in the air but only a and d. Can someone help me?

Jumping is not surfing.

If you are on the right side: penalty to the right and back quickly
