I'm currently in the process of creating my own modpack, which so far has worked perfectly with around 30 mods, but like any normal person I would need Optifine for shaders and generally better performance, but you won't find it in the launcher. Thanks to tutorials, I found out that you just have to download it from the Internet, as usual, and copy it into the Modpack folder in the mods folder, then it should work. But it doesn't. I just don't find Optifine in the launcher mod list, and I certainly don't find it in the game.
Because of the large number of available mods, I installed the modpack on the good old 1.7.10 and therefore also copied the (actually) suitable Optifine version, but how the launcher doesn't feel like it. Who has an idea or a suitable tutorial video about exactly what the problem is? Because I didn't find one.
Which launcher do you use?
Twitch… It's up there xD
Sorry xD, as far as I know it is not possible to install optifine in the twitch launcher but you could consider switching to forge to fix this problem
But. According to numerous tutorials, it should at least be possible. But it just doesn't recognize it. And Forge was preinstalled when the pack was created.
I mean to use the forge to start the pack and not twitch and besides I don't know anything that it is possible
You start the modpack in the twitch launcher. Forge is a mod that starts…
You download the correct version of Optifine for Forge and copy it into the Mods folder. It works that way and not otherwise.
Read my question text above. That's how I did it… But the launcher doesn't recognize optifine in the mods after I've done that. I don't find it in the list. Even if I start the game it's net in it…
Then the selected version is not compatible with the installed Forge version. The changelogs for Optifine indicate which Forge can be used.
I checked it. It is compatible
Then it should be active. You can see that in the main menu of Minecraft, at the bottom left you should see Optifine. It does not appear in the Twitch list.
