Live streaming on Twitch, does it make sense?

I (m / 13) thought that I would like to try streaming on Twitch. My question now is whether that makes sense and is a nice experience or whether I'm just embarrassed later (I find experience very helpful). In any case, my parents are against it.

You can do it, but be prepared that nobody is watching you at first

It comes to a friend of mine streams often and has around 300 followers another even over 60 thousand so it's actually a nice experience.

PS: would also stop by xD

In any case not allowed without parental permission:

If your age is between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction of residence, you can only use the Twitch Services under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms of Use.

This solves the question of meaningfulness if your parents do not agree.

Especially since that is something that you can do when you are a little older… 13 years is a bit early, because even for adults it is not easy, it is even relatively exhausting. If you get more than ten followers at all…

It's not really a pleasure in the beginning unless you are pushed by someone or the best at whatever you want to do, you will stream for hours with 0 viewers. You can imagine how much fun it is. But if you have a good 10 constant viewers (or more of course) it's nice the way there can only be difficult.

Thanks especially for the lower part of the answer. On the upper part, the question was less about whether I should oppose my parents and more about my own opinion, whether I even want that, and to build up a basis for argumentation if necessary.

Yeah… The question is, what do you want to do. As a rule, streaming does not intend to leave it with three random viewers. Most of the time you want to build a kind of community that you can interact with - otherwise you could save yourself the stream.

But a community also means work because it wants content from you - preferably regularly. At the same time you have to be able to deal with the people who have a very low inhibition threshold on the anonymous Twitch and bring everything from insults to intrusive contact insults. This is also what I meant by "exhausting". That takes away motivation, you have to come to terms with it and react appropriately so as not to be ridiculous at the same time.

Once you've learned that, you'll be ahead of most people online. Because then you are less likely to be provoked, less likely to fall for dubious stuff and become more relaxed. So that would be an advantage, but you'd better learn that from other people before throwing yourself into the deep end ;-)

It always depends on what you do and how you do it. Do you want to do face cam? Do you want to do gaming? Do you want to do with mic? All the questions you have to ask yourself. It can be embarrassing, 13 is still very young. So it's hard not to be embarrassed at your age. If you are 15+ then I would say we don't be so embarrassed.
