I have bought a devil 5.1 sound system and directly to an optical cable. My question is whether it is sufficient to connect this cable with TV and home theater and still from my other devices (Ps4, XBOX one, switch, etc.) to use the new speakers. Theoretically, yes, then of the PS4 via hdmi sound and image forwarded to the TV and played from there through the optical cable. Am I seeing this wrong? Does the surround sound still work?
I do not know if that applies universally, but after connecting my soundbar to the TV, the sound from my PS4 was also played back through the soundbar.
However, I have an HDMI cable to connect the soundbar and TV used
Surround sound as the name suggests… Is a multi-range sound
for 1 speaker, you need 1 cable
do you have a 5.1 system, do you need 6 cables?
do you have a 12.2 system, therefore 14 cables?
with 1 cable, you can't feed something where and then again lay several cables apart.
The subwoofer is the heart of the set, the 5 speakers are connected to the subwoofer and this then with the audio source… I'm only interested in the connection between home theater and TV. It's about whether the devices that are connected to the TV via HDMI via the optical of the TV's sound as surround can play. Either my question was misunderstood or you have read something.
For me, this works with the optical cable. From the Samsung TV with optical cable to the Yamaha amplifier and from there to Klipsch speakers. However, the volume can no longer be controlled with the TV remote control. You have to take the amplifier FB.
