Xbox controller, headset not working? Urgently need

So here is my problem: I played cod with my colleagues quite relaxed but then the controller fell down when I picked it up again, my headset stopped working, first I assumed that my headset broke but when I got my headset connected to the cell phone, it worked without problems so something must be broken on the controller. What can I do about it without spending a lot of money on a repair?
