You are talking about the next gen here I can't imagine that so much will be changed at most Displayport everything else I think is unlikely what does Microsoft have to build a console that can hardly be operated on a TV the new XBoX has 90% HDMI

The cable connection has nothing to do with the compatibility between the television and the game console, the only thing that can be that the television does not support the HDCP copy protection of the Xbox, but if the software on the television is kept up to date then it should work, so old not yet.
The new Xbox will definitely have a fiber optic connection installed. Then you just need a corresponding converter on the TV.
