An example that can't be repaired does the Media Markt have to give a new console?
"who are giving Media Markt a new console?" No, in this case the current value will be paid out to you. You were able to use the console before that
So would the console break during the warranty period and if it were not repairable, you wouldn't get a new one?
That's not true at all.
The console is being sent in whether it can be repaired or not. And that 3 times with the same error.
The manufacturer will usually replace the device within the warranty period.
A payment of the remaining amount is only possible if you have extended the guarantee period, but not always. Because that depends on the warranty extension.
Within the normal manufacturer's guarantee, the manufacturer will always repair or replace the device. Excluding personal negligence.
And you even have a complaint period for a repair, so if you have a defective device in 11 months and send the device in, then you have the option of reporting a defect after the repair even beyond the 12 months.
The whole thing is then treated like a normal guarantee case
They'll fix it or give you a new one. But not immediately, the device first goes to the manufacturer. So if it is defective, you have to wait until it is back.
I wrote it in more detail under a different answer
