I ran out of space on my Xbox One and wanted to know if I could just plug in an external hard drive and install my games on it. Does that work? Or do I have to consider something else?

Sl

Should work.

Ma

That's fine.

Simply plug in an external USB hard drive. The console recognizes these with the request to partition them. Then you can use them.

Have been using a 2 terabyte myself for years.

Bl

Can I only use the external hard drive, or both? So external hard drive and storage from Xbox?

Ma

You can do both and you can move the data among each other.

Bl

Thanks for your help 👍

A picture book answer that I couldn't have answered better.

you answer questions faster before I get the opportunity 😂

Oa

Should work if the hard drive runs over USB

Ma

You are here too rarely 😁

In addition, I'm gradually becoming delusional with you.

Ab

Seems like we're both in the Xbox segment. I've always set my filter to Xbox 360, Xbox One and Xbox so I can help people when they get stuck.

And by the way, I noticed from the beginning about your PB, which shows an Xbox character. You will definitely see me more often, I would also like to thank you for being here more often than me and taking care of my work 😅

By the way, I consider you as a colleague with equally good (and here and there even better) knowledge of the Xbox, especially because most of your answers are almost identical to my experience and always agree. I have the same with "UserUseruserUse", but the gentleman is - as far as I know - more and more in the halo segment. (and yes, I'm also very familiar with the Xbox segment, even if I'm not a community expert 😉)
